"Your hat reminds me of the Guggenheim Museum..."

...said the man behind the counter of the liquor store. I took it as a wonderful compliment--an only in New York kind of thing.
I've been reading a little Anne Waldman. "Kill or Cure" to be exact. There are many reasons to admire Waldman, but what I'm attracted to tonight is her freedom of expression. Sometimes her work is crafted, and sometimes she just spits out the words.
Recently I've been trying to write in a particular way that I believe will take my work to a new level. But what's happened is I've become very self-conscious. I've lost my freedom to write poetry like a woman who wears an asymetric hat made with hoops. I think a dose of Anne Waldman might just help.

Enjoy your days off, love the snow photo. It's cold and clear here in SF.
Was that a photo of your hat or the museum?
